Time Flies

Half a transfer sure passes fast when you are having fun. I am doing well here in Chincha, I feel comfortable and confident here. I know that there is a lot of work to been done here and I am glad to be a part of it. The thing I like most about this ward is that the leaders and really dedicated to the missionary work and I know that through working with them the ward will grow and flourish. My companion and I are doing good. We get along alright, not perfect, but alright. This last week was a bit difficult in terms of finding people in their houses to teach them but we do have 3 baptisms lined up for this week. Miguel, Daysis, and Valentino are an amazing family that have been investigating the church for a while now. We have their marriage set up for friday and their baptism all ready to go on Saturday! One of the best moments this week for me happened yesterday when Miguel was asked to offer a prayer in the gospel principles class. The spirit filled the room as he prayed and in which he asked his father in heaven to provide for himself and his family to be baptized and united in the church!

I know its short but as usual I never have time. I love you guys and want to just share a bit of my testimony.

I know that my savior and Redeemer lives. I know that this is his church and that he guides this church though is living and ordained servants. I testify not of a God who spoke but of a loving Father in Heaven who speaks to those humble enough to listen. I know that our loving father in heaven has established his gospel in all times and all places and therefore we have the privelage to have the Holy Bible, Book of Mormon, and the Revelation the God reveals to his prophets on the earth today. I know that God lives and he loves us and I know that I will return to his presence one day! I am proud to wear the name of my Lord Jesus Christ upon my chest and their is no greater joy than to share these things that I have been blessed to learn since my youth! In the name of the only my Savior Jesus Christ- Amen

Chinch- Week 2

Alright this week was a bit crazy. We ran around like crazy last p day planning a wedding but its all figured out now so in two weeks on friday we will marry 2 of our investigators and saturday is their baptism! We also had a training in Ica on wednesday and President McGinn instructed the missionaries that he wants us to revisit the active families and ask for referrals, for the next few weeks we will put a lot of emphasis on this.

Friday we started out weekly planning when the phone started ringing and it turned out to be President McGinn! He dropped in for a surprise visit and accompanied us in the morning to a lesson we had planned with a referral named Maria. Maria is a good friend of a recent convert here named Sarita. The three of us went to Saritas house to share a message with Maria and we had a really good lesson. Not gonna lie it is a bit intimidating to teach a lesson with your mission president.

Saturday we had interviews with President and Sister McGinn and it was really good. That afternoon we went back to visit Maria and had another amazing lesson, she accepted a baptism date for the 18th of march. It is stake conference this weekend and President McGinn went to bring Sarita and Maria to the adults session!

Sunday was a good day, we had a good conference and we had a lot of investigators show up!

Sorry its short, but to review: awesome week, lots of miracles, love my area!

With love, Elder Brown

CHINCHA

Alright guys I got a bit more time in the area now. First of we have this family that we are teacher that are just amazing, they are about ready to be baptized but we need to get them married first so that is the goal for this week. Their names are Miguel, Daisy, and Valentino.

My new companion is pretty cool. He is 25 years old and he has had 2 transfers here. His name is Elder Villanueva.

The ward here is amazing. The bishop has 3 months and he is on fire. He has changed a lot of things in the ward and in the organizations to really focus the members on helping with the missionary work and reactivating the inactive members. I am really excited to work with him.

The ward mission leader is also awesome, he is 31 years old and is looking for a wife haha. He is really the first ward mission leader I know who is really fulfilling his calling. We talk with him every night and coordinate with the members to have family night and bring investigators with us.

It really is awesome here in Chincha, the members are so nice and the work is really growing here.

Also something crazy, there is another Elder here in Chincha who is also named Elder Brown, haha. maybe we will go on splits together one day to confuse everybody

I will include some photos from the last area in this email

Until next week!

Transferred!!!

Well guys I got transferred, I am now in Chincha. Chincha is about 3 hours south of Lima in the desert. I have less than 24 hours in this area so I cant really give to much of an update but next week will be better. My new companion is Elder Villanueva, he is also pretty new. He has one year in the mission and he is a fun guy. We are also the zone leaders here and one of the district leaders here in Chincha is also named Elder Brown! There are 10 elders here in chincha and no sisters and the area is super huge.
